Text to G-O-O-G-L-E as who you are sending to, and then type in whatever information you're looking for. You can find definitions, movie times, closing times of restaurants and stores, etc.
Example: Type 'pizza 13045', and you'll get pizza places in Cortland.
Cool, eh?

I did know this Jamie. I watched Will Richardson do it one night at a restaurant to get information about a book we were talking about. It was amazing that one had a computer in one's own hand--a computer we call a cell phone!!

Wow...that is certainly interesting. Seems like we never need to work very hard to get anything. I see the positives: convenience, speed. And I see the negatives: no interaction, less reading. I am a bit torn on this topic. It is almost like online dictionaries. Can't we just look up words in an actual dictionary? Have we gotten this lazy?

I remember hearing that you can do this but it slipped my mind, therefore I never tried it. But I am on the same page as staci, I am torn as well. As great as technology has become, I can't help but feel it is making many people much more lazy. When it's nice outside and someone could go for a walk to the pizzaria, that will be ignored because all we have to do now is take out our cell phones. I am sure that as you have said, it is very useful.
That is awesome; I have never heard about that before. But, before I try it, I also want to know if this costs anything outside of regular text messaging fees.
I don't think this feature makes us lazy. Before I knew about this, I would typically Google the information or call Information for a phone number. It takes the same amount of effort we've been using for awhile.

I really don't think its a laziness issue but one of convenience. Sure there will be people who get too wrapped up in themselves to appreciate what is surrounding them, but to have just the telephone book at your disposal, with a directory asstance fee...priceless
