Nike has just signed a deal with iPod, so runners can track their mileage through their iPods. A sensor from the iPod can be inserted into the sneaker so the athlete can record his/her distance covered.

I thought the iPhone was a bit much, but anyone could see that coming. I just didn't think sneakers would be incorporated into the mix. Check out an article on the topic--it's pretty crazy.

Craaaazy! My teammate actually has that and it works perfectly. She just got done running a marathon in Chicago, so clearly she is serious about her running. The nike chip really helps her out with knowing how much she ran and in what amount she ran it in. Who knows what's next?!
See..I am sure that some will find this amazing when honestly, it frightens me. Does technology seriously have to be everywhere?? I personally find it exhausting. Thanks for sharing because I have not heard of this yet and it is shocking!
I agree with Kris Mark. I feel like technology is taking over everything, when sometimes it doesn't have to. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy technology, a lot of it is great... but some just goes too far. Maybe not the iPod/Nike conglomeration, but I'm sure we have all looked at an aspect of technology and asked ourselves "Why?" Then again, others ask "Why not?"

I thought I'd seen everything yet but these "toys" are interactive computer pals/games for elementary school-aged kids. Imagine what these kids will be doing with technologies when they get to your middle or high school classroom!
This is very cool, and I don't feel afraid of "technology taking over everything" from hearing this news. I'm more afraid about the things we don't hear about - crazy government survellience and all of that. This is just another "toy" to amuse people like me, as well as a great strategy to make money for both companies.
